LED candle light

A compact, battery-powered indoor LED lantern—reduced to form, warm light, and ease of use.

Starting point

The idea arose from the desire for a simple, timeless light that can be used hanging or freestanding. Many mobile light sources appear either purely functional or highly decorative. This object tries to combine both: a practical everyday light source that blends unobtrusively into the room.

Result

The result is a compact lantern with clear geometry. It can be placed or hung. The surrounding handle gives the object a distinct structure and enables different usage scenarios without additional components or mechanisms.

Inside sits a removable lamp insert. It houses the LED candle module and the battery box. This keeps the outer form closed and calm. The technology is integrated and does not visually dominate.

Background

A deliberate design decision is the position of the switch. The light is switched on and off directly at the battery box inside. Access is only via the removable insert.

This way, the light cannot be inadvertently adjusted from the outside. At the same time, the outer form remains calm and unchanged.

The design is modular. The insert is inserted into the body and can be removed at any time. This keeps the object serviceable without additional fasteners or complex mechanics.
